In his second part of The Promises to Abram series, Paul Rhodes delves deeper into the conditional promise God made to his people – they would inhabit their promised land, providing they remained faithful to him. We see how God’s people were persistently unfaithful, they divided into two, Judah and ten tribes of the north, Israel. In AD 70, the Romans attacked Jerusalem and destroyed the temple. The rejection of the Messiah resulted in God’s people being exiled for almost 2,000 years.

Each one of us are unique in our calling and gifting. If you're not sure what your gifting is, think about the things you have been successful at over time, if these are also the things that you enjoy doing, seek opportunities to express this gifting within God's purposes.

The handwashing incident in Mark 7 illustrates how God is concerned with matters of the heart not matters of our hands. Revd Graham Coldman challenges us to ask ourselves - In what ways am I allowing my understanding of faith in Christ to change the attitudes of my heart? Do I have a heart of stone or of flesh? Do I have a new heart?
