DLK Architects are assisting the church to develop the plans for the redevelopment of the church building.

DLK is a local practice in Caversham with offices on St Peter’s Avenue. The company has been in business for over 50 years, originally based in Maidenhead.

It is now owned and run by Neil Barr, who joined the practice as a partner in 1994. In this time DLK have worked on sites all over the country and previously we ran two branch offices. They have a good track record in various areas developed over years and now we have five members of staff.

DLK have similar experience locally having implemented projects for other churches in the local area. They were the architects for The Keenan Rooms, Parish Rooms in Wokingham and also The Cornerstone building for All Saints Church which is a large Parish building in the centre of the town.

As well as churches, DLK have clients in various fields, with projects across residential development, education and health for schools and GP’s. They also do smaller scale work on individual houses especially locally in Reading.

Neil Barr

Neil has lived in Caversham for 22 years and has a daughter Nicky, who is 17 years old and a son Stephen, now 19. Neil is excited to be working on the project: “Looking at the scheme for Caversham Baptist Church, this seems to be a great opportunity to open the premises more widely to the local community in which the church are already very active.”
